TL;DR: A lesser known Cognac, this is a must-try VSOP thanks to its versatility—perfect for sipping neat or as a sophisticated base in cocktails.Â
Meukow VSOP is a standout Cognac, celebrated for its smoothness and complexity. Featuring the iconic panther motif, it represents both power and elegance. Carefully crafted from select eaux-de-vie and aged in French oak casks, it’s floral-forward with fruit and wood undertones.

Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Deep Amber - The bottles are definitely statement pieces
- Aroma: Bright and spritely with prominant florals (rose). A green, almost menthol, fennel, or green pepper note contrasts pears, citrus, red apples, and ginger. A touch of caramel is present.
- Taste & Mouthfeel: On the palate, more white pepper, ginger, florals, vanilla and hazelnuts are present. This expression is moderately mouth drying.
- Finish: Ginger and vanilla dance on the palate.
- Distinctiveness: That combination of fruit and florals is distinctive but somewhat along the lines of Courvoisier (in terms of comparing to the 'big four').
- Overall Drinkability & Balance: For those who are easing into Cognac or are looking for a crowd-pleaser, this is a great option. Both the aesthetic of the bottle and the liquid are exquisite.
