Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin
February 18, 2025
TL;DR: A bold, berry-forward gin with notes of blueberry, blackberry, and citrus, balanced by warm spice and a velvety smooth finish.
Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin redefines the classic gin profile with a rich infusion of dark berries and citrus, creating a spirit that’s as bold as it is smooth. Distilled with traditional botanicals like juniper, coriander, and angelica, it stands apart with the deep, fruity flavors of blueberries and blackberries, layered over zesty Valencia orange and warming almond notes. The result? A gin that’s lush, complex, and incredibly easy to sip—whether in a G&T, a negroni, or even on its own over ice. Brockmans delivers an unexpected yet beautifully balanced twist on traditional gin, making it a must-try for those who love a little indulgence in their glass.

Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Clear, clean, a very faint pink hue
- Aroma: Blueberries and red fruits immediately jump out on the nose. This is followed by citrus, white pepper, and a hint of strawberry bubblegum.
- Taste & Mouthfeel: The palate is much more flavorsome. The green notes come through alongside the rose which balance each other nicely. There's a nice viscosity on the palate and a slight salinity.
- Finish: The finish starts with blueberries and finishes with spice tingling on the palate (in a pleasant manner).
- Distinctiveness: That blueberry/strawberry bubblegum note is quite distinctive. It has a 'treat' note to it but isn't sweet.
- Overall Drinkability & Balance: This New International Style Gin would be great with just soda or in any citrus/fruit based cocktails or even as an Old Fashioned. The high levels of fruitiness make it less versatile but nonetheless delicious.

Comments / Notes:
Three things to remember about this gin:
Berry-Forward Flavor – Unlike most gins, Brockmans leans into dark fruit notes, using real blueberries and blackberries for a naturally sweet and aromatic profile.
Ultra-Smooth Mouthfeel – The name isn’t just for show—Brockmans undergoes a meticulous distillation process to achieve its signature velvety texture, making it exceptionally easy to drink.
What’s in a Name? – No, there isn’t a Mr. Brockman behind the brand. The name comes from the idea of managing the flow of water—since many distilleries are built near streams (also called brooks or brocks). A “brockman” is someone who controls the water’s movement, much like this gin carefully balances bold flavors with smooth refinement.
Food Pairing Recommendations: Breakfast (waffles with strawberries, bacon, omelette)
Cocktail Recommendation: Anything with citrus, fruit, soda or tonic (or all!)
