Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Golden - The Glenfiddich rebrand is very eye catching. The dark orange feature color on the bottle is a good representation of the expected flavor profile (sweet, a touch of peat influence).
- Aroma: Moderately peated but it's a sweet, campfire smoke. Black licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, nuttiness (almonds, marzipan) and a hint of orange blossoms.
- Taste & Mouthfeel: The smoke almost presents a burnt marshmallow and brownies vibe (smoke, creamy vanilla sweetness, cocoa), marzipan once again, tropical fruits (mango, papaya).
- Finish: The smoke and sweetness linger. We want another sip.
- Distinctiveness: This combination of Speyside peated malt and rum cask finish are distinctive.
- Overall Drinkability & Balance: This is a completely different expression from Glenfiddich. For those who are delving into the world of peat, this would be a great introduction but is also suitable as something different for experienced peated Scotch drinkers too.

Comments / Notes:
- Glenfiddich Fire & Cane uses peat sourced locally from Speyside for the malting process. While the region is not traditionally known for peated whiskies, this choice gives Fire & Cane a distinct “campfire” smokiness with a subtler, less intense profile than peat from Islay. This approach aligns with the whisky’s experimental nature, balancing smoky and sweet elements through its finish in rum casks sourced from South America.
